A downloadable exercise

This project is an excercise that I am doing together with my game design students. The final goal is to create a digital prototype of a new game concept starting with the strong base of a successful game.

Often new game ideas come from little innovations, we decided to iterate on the core mechanic of Titan Quest, by THQ Nordic

  • We started analyzing the game Titan Quest, by THQ Nordic
  • We stated a problem to face. Game design works better with a problem statement.
  • We generated ideas using the SCAMPER creativity tool
  • We selected the best ideas using the innovation matrix technique
  • We defined 2 new features for our game.

We are currently writing the instructions manual of an hypothetical tabletop game in order to design a physical prototype for our game and have more clear what we should build in a digital prototype.
